- Commissioned to compose a work for live instruments and electronics by Dr. Anne Dhu McLucas, professor and former Dean of the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, as part of the curriculum of a course in musicology.
- Requirements included: Composing a work 5-10 minutes in length for violin, marimba, and electronics, meeting with the class and Dr. McLucas to demonstrate progress and describe the process of composing and premiering a work, and having the work performed at a public concert.
